It has been one really dry summer here in the Northeast.

In all the years I have lived in my home, I have never seen the backyard so brown.

Oh, there have been dry spells when the grass dries up but turns back to green once the rain comes.

Usually that’s during the hottest month of July.

But now, the grass is actually crunching under our feet as we walk on it - I don’t see how it will turn back to green before the fall weather starts moving in and turning everything brown too.

We have our own well for water, but watering the lawn to keep it green would only drain it.

And with no rain to fill it back up, that wouldn’t be a good thing.

They say we are supposed to get over 2 inches of rain over the next two days.

It was supposed to start last night.

So far, no rain.

My fingers are crossed that it arrives soon!

There is a beautiful full moon out tonight.

The name of the moon for this month is The Full Buck Moon.

It is so named because the antlers of the deer are just beginning to push through the deer’s forehead at this time.

We just got back from watching it rise over the lake - most beautiful!

The summer season has arrived in New England and hopefully it will be a grand one weatherwise.

Sales are usually a bit slower during this time - every one is enjoying the warm outdoors and family vacations are about to begin.

Summer is just flying by all too quickly since it has finally arrived in New England.

It has been a cool rainy one here, but this past week has thrown the heat and humidity at us with a blast.

Perhaps we will get some swimming in at the lake after all.
