More National Geographic Magazines Monday, September 7th, 2009

We ran across some more older issues of the National Geographic magazine this summer and have them listed in the store now.

It is so interesting to read through them and see how much things have changed from the 1940’s and 1950’s.

One of the biggest things I noticed was how they liked to print on the cover how many color images are included in the issue.

Color photography is something that we don’t even think about these days, but it was certainly a big thing back then.

And the advertisements in them are usually good for a chuckle - how innocent everything was back then.

Time has changed many things in these issues including many of the articles written about countries we no longer have on our planet.

A bit of history, geography, early color photography, and cheeky advertisements  - all worth taking a moment to read.

You can find them here - enjoy!

National Geographic Society Magazine - April 1915

We have recently added a few vintage issues of the National Geographic Society magazines to our inventory.

A couple of them date back to the early 1900’s during the World War I era, and the articles are so different from today’s NG stories.

And the advertisements are amusing to read too - we have changed so much over the years.

Some of the issues are from the late 1980’s and eary 1990’s.

All of them are a great read!

National Geographic Society Magazine - April 1958

We only have a couple listed at the moment, but we do have a few vintage issues of the National Geographic magazines.

We even have a couple dating back to the early 1900’s.

The photography in them is just as beautiful as today’s issues, and the articles are also filled with great information.

Many changes have come to the magazine and the world over the years  - what great documentation and history these issues have!
