The passport requirements for US citizens changed at the beginning of this month. There is no problem leaving this country, but coming back in, from any border, will require a passport. We have been to Canada many times in the past and it was never a requirement. If we ever decide to go again, it will be necessary to purchase one long before we leave. They offer a new type now, one that is designed for travel in the North American continent only. It looks almost like a driver’s license - small and it fits in the wallet. Seems like the perfect one for us. But for the many others who still need a regular one, it is best kept in a safe place. We have several of these leather Kenneth Cole passport cases.
