Summer has finally arrived and many people are off to enjoy vacation and time spent with the family.

Summer is typically a slow time for internet sales. Everyone is enjoying the outdoors and not spending time in front of their computers.

I use a software feed to add my inventory to the Froogle listings in Google. In the past I constructed this feed manually, but when I had my webhost add this feature to my store, it made this time consuming task a lot easier.

I try to remember to run the feed on a weekly basis so Google has the most up to date items that I have available.

I have been spending time these last few days submitting my website to web directories.

I have a listing of free directories that I like to add my site to in the shopping or clothing categories. The website that maintains the list puts an update through each month for many of the new directories that he has found.

The list includes paid inclusions, link exchange inclusions, and free inclusions. The Google page rank (PR) is also included, and I usually hit the ones that already have some PR. I usually skip the weird ones and the zero PR ones.

I use this a way to increase my exposure with the search engines and have been doing it since I started my website. It is time consuming and part of the monotonous behind the scenes website management.
